Jim Hayes was born and raised in upstate New York. Denise Pruett Hayes was born in North Carolina. At age 2, her parents Dennis and Lucy Pruett brought her to Rhodesia (currently Zimbabwe), Africa where she was raised.. Jim and Denise have served in various foreign missions since their marriage in 1978. In 1990, they arrived in Zimbabwe with two children, James Dennis and Jamie Denise. Several months later Jennifer Lucille arrived on the scene. Today, James lives in California, and is to wed his fiancée, Cassandra Tortora in June of 2009. Jamie is an ICU nurse and lives in upstate New York with son Eamon Bradley. Jennifer will be starting her freshman year of college in September in the USA. While Jim and Denise return ‘empty-nested’ to Zimbabwe, there will be no shortage of children to love there! |

1990-1995 In 1990, the Hayes, along with their three children, began their work in Zimbabwe in church evangelism under Hasten Christian Mission, a subsidiary of Hasten International. By 1995, Jim and Denise has assisted in the founding of 5 churches in the high density areas of Harare (Budiriro, Kuwadzana, Mabvuku, Norton and Chitungwiza), 5 churches in the rural community of Gokwe, and worked with established ministries in Sunningdale and the University of Zimbabwe, They also assisted White Fields Overseas Evangelism in church planting in Botswana, Namibia and Swaziland. With the ever increasing number of AIDS orphans, the Hayes saw the need for a special ministry with these children. |

1996-2008 In 1995, the Hayes returned to the USA and founded All God’s Children, an organization committed to the welfare of children whose lives have been affected by AIDS. In 1998, ground-breaking for the Lucy Pruett Trinity Care Centre Trust was held at Chinyudze, a ten acre property 2 ½ hours from Harare. In 2002, the centre was registered with the Department of Social Welfare and the home housed a community based, sponsorship program, a feeding centre, a clinic, a hospice unit, a nursery, a library, a church and home units for orphaned children referred by SW. Over the years, hundreds of children received love, nourishment, medical care and schooling. Due to the political environment and the remote location of the home, the LPTCC was officially closed in 2008 due to a hostile takeover by some staff and youth militia. However, the Trust will continue on in the capital city of Harare. |

2009 and Beyond In late August of 2009, Jim and Denise Hayes will return to Zimbabwe to reestablish the work of All God’s Children in Harare, Their ministry will include AIDS orphans and church evangelism. While there has been much negativism about Zimbabwe in the press, the Hayes feel positive about what God has accomplished through their ministry the past 20 years. It is always children who are the innocent victims of war, poverty and disease, thus there remain little ones who need to be loved and nourished, bodies that need to be healed of disease and souls that need to be won to Christ. The Hayes first priority will be establishing a centre in the city to house the ministry. PLEASE PRAY FOR ALL GOD’S CHILDREN as they embark on this new chapter on their lives. |
